The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OyoSUBEB, has held its 2021 Special Thanksgiving Service amidst praises and prayers to God, oyonews.com.ng reports.
Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran today, led staff members in a special thanksgiving service, where praises and prayers were offered to God.
The Special Thanksgiving Service was held at the car park of the Board.
Addressing staff members, Dr. Nureni Adeniran observed that the Thanksgiving was in response to the knowledge that God requires the heart of gratitude, especially considering the challenges that came with the past year.
He therefore said, as a token of appreciation for God’s good deeds to staff members of the Board, it was necessary to offer thanks.
Adeniran said, though the past year, 2020 which started well was truncated by Coronavirus pandemic and Endsars protests, the Basic Education sector still has every reason to thank God for his mercies and blessings in the year 2020.
He further thanked Governor Seyi Makinde, whom he praised for his support to the Basic Education sector, despite the turbulence of 2020.
Furthermore, he thanked the Governor for giving the Education sector priority, following the 2021 budget which gave Education a good appropraition, adding that, with this, Government will be doing more in this key sector in 2021.
Dr. Adeniran reaffirmed that workers’ welfare has been paramount in Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, reiterating that the Board would always put this first.
He however appealed to staff members to redouble their efforts and ensure they give their best to assignments committed into their hands.
Adeniran also urged them to embrace the COVID 19 protocol to avert the second wave of Coronavirus in the State.
He expressed hope of a more prosperous 2021, promising that the Board would complete some laudable projects within this year.
