…as Another Bags Two Years Jail Term for Land Scam in Bauchi
Justice Professor C.A Obiozor of the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City on Monday, February 14, 2022, convicted and sentenced one Adanegbe Hope Osaze to five years imprisonment for fraud.
The defendant was arraigned on one count charge by the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC for fraudulent impersonation. Upon arraignment the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.
Meanwhile, Justice Abubarka Muazu of the Bauchi High Court, Bauchi on February 9, 2022 convicted and sentenced one Umar Aliyu Sabo to two years imprisonment for obtaining the sum of N500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousands Naira) under false pretences.
The convict who pleaded guilty to the charge, was arraigned on one count charge for inducing the complainant to pay him the said sum for the purchase of a non-existent plot of land at Federal Low Cost, Bauchi.
The offence is contrary to Section 320 and Punishable under Section 321 of the Penal Code Law.
