A cleric, Bishop Solomon Aremu Oluwaseun, General Overseer, Christ the Light Church, has said that the nation is passing through numerous challenges because the present crop of leaders in the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, have derailed in their duties as custodians of the Christian faith.
Bishop Solomon Aremu Oluwaseun, who is set to unveil a new 3,000 capacity church auditorium in Ibadan, equally blamed Nigerian leaders for lack of vision, unlike their counterparts in the developed countries.
The cleric, who spoke at a conference with newsmen ahead of the church’s dedication, also advised leaders to make avenue for development in Nigeria, including provision of shelter with adequate security at all levels.
Bishop Aremu also advised Christians in Nigeria to be united.
Bishop Aremu, who was a Vice-chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Christian wing, said the progress of society depends on the unity and love of people of faith.
He said the challenges facing the country could be surmounted if Christians start speaking with one voice.
“It is high time Christians in Nigeria begin to speak with one voice and stop presenting themselves wrongly to leadership in the country”, OYO NEWS quoted him saying.
“Nigeria is going through a lot because we refused to unite; we have refused to learn to live together.
OYO NEWS reports, that the auditorium called Solution Ground, is situated at Ajadi Powerline, Ologuneru.
According Bishop Aremu, his ministry whose facility started at Oke’badan, opposite Ratibi Primary school, began almost thirty-three years ago.
Aremu added that the new project, situated at Ajadi Powerline commenced in March 7, 2009, when its foundation was laid.
“By the grace of God, the Ministry started on May 1st 1990, in a parlour with myself, my wife and three kids, who were not mine as members”, Aremu said.
“Our focus was to show people the light, because the bible says, I am the light of the world”.
“I have spent over 33 years in the Ministry, and despite the fact that I didn’t go to secondary school, God has used me across the globe”, Bishop Aremu added.
“It was then, that God gave me the vision to start victorious night vigil, every first Tuesday of the month”.
“Our first church site, was bought at Oke’badan, opposite Ratibi Pry school, in 1996, after which we even negotiated for the land in front of our site”.
Speaking on the new auditorium, Bishop Aremu said, “we laid the foundation in March 7, 2009. But in Jan 2022, God sent a good Samaritan to me, to pledged to help with the building project. Miraculously, the Chairman of the Landlords Association, in this area, a Muslim, contributed N50, 000 to the project”.
