APC Unveils Timetable, Fixes Presidential Nomination Form at ₦100m for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for primaries, screening, and the cost of nomination forms for aspirants across all elective positions.
According to the document, the party will commence the process with the issuance of a notice of election to state chapters on April 20, 2026, followed by the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms between April 25 and May 2, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat.
The timetable indicates that the deadline for submission of completed forms is May 4, 2026, while screening of aspirants is scheduled to hold between May 9 and May 10, 2026, for legislative and governorship candidates, and on May 23 for presidential aspirants.
Publication of screening results will take place on May 13 for most positions, while presidential aspirants’ results will be released on May 24. Appeals arising from the screening are slated for May 14 and May 25, depending on the category.
Primary elections for various offices will be staggered, beginning with State Houses of Assembly on May 16, followed by governorship on May 18, House of Representatives on May 20, Senate on May 22, and concluding with the presidential primary scheduled for May 28 and 29, 2026, through direct primaries across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The party also set aside May 26 to May 28, 2026, as public holidays to accommodate the exercise.
In terms of costs, the APC fixed the presidential nomination form at ₦100 million, with ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination.
Governorship aspirants are to pay ₦50 million, while senatorial forms cost ₦20 million. House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦10 million, and State Assembly aspirants ₦5 million.
The party noted that female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities will only be required to purchase the expression of interest forms and will receive a 50 per cent discount on nomination fees.
All payments are to be made directly into designated party accounts, as signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.
The release of the timetable signals the formal commencement of internal party processes ahead of the 2027 general elections, as aspirants begin consultations and mobilization nationwide.
