Oyo state government has confirmed the commencement of training for one thousand five hundred Amotekun corps, reiterating its commitment to security of lives and properties of its citizenry.
This affirmation was made by the Commandant of Amotekun operations, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju (rtd) in his office yesterday.
He said that the training was in accordance with the instruction by his Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, that the training must commence in earnest after the successful recruitment exercise.
It will be recalled that the Corps recently recruited its officers in the thirty three (33) local government areas of the state.
The training, according to Colonel Olayanju will commence on Wednesday the 4th of November 2020 and will go through a period of two(2) weeks.
The Commandant of the operations added that the training of the Corps will take place at the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education ,in Oyo town.
He stressed that all the successful applicants’ names will be pasted in all local governments’ notice boards for verification.
Olagunju implored applicants to check out their names via the various local government and the Oyo state job portal: www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng. He said that on checking through the internet, their form number should be used as the user name and password.
Colonel Olayanju therefore urged all successful applicants to arrive the training venue not later than 09:00am on Tuesday the 3rd of November 2020, a day prior to the training scheduled date, while emphasizing that lateness of any form will not be condoned .
All successful applicants were therefore enjoined to bring along a bucket, plate and spoon, broom, two pairs of white shorts and t-shirts and one canvass.
