Alumni of the graduating class of 1988 College of Medicine, University of Ibadan recently donated a set of chairs, tables, hospital beds, television, and other medical equipment to the Hospital’s Palliative Care Centre.

A representative of the set while speaking stated that the set is always open to make a difference wherever they find themselves. He noted that the idea came from two individuals of the set whose grandparents benefited immensely from the center’s specialized medical care.

In her remark, Prof. Olaitan Soyanwo appreciated the set and for looking back to show appreciation to the Hospital and for their continuous support to the center. She also thanked the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo for bringing to the realization the proposed construction of the palliative care centre extension.

In his response, Prof. Otegbayo appreciated the set and admonished the department to treat the facilities as personal treasures and use them judiciously for the good of the department.

He also thanked Prof. Olaitan Soyanwo for the developmental role she had played in the centre over the years. He added that the desire to construct a befitting extension for the palliative care centre started with former CMD, Prof. Abiodun Ilesanmi.

“That desire has been brought to reality by the Federal Government through our capital projects for 2022”, he concluded.
