The lawmaker representing Ona-Ara/Egbeda Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Akin Alabi, has been awarded the best federal Legislator of the year.
The award was given to him in Abuja, by the Nigerian Students Merit Award.
Speaking, Akin-Alabi said, “I appreciate this award and promise to do even more next year to ensure efficient representation for the People of Egbeda/Ona Ara.”
Hon. Akin Alabi said he has launched a 250m Women empowerment scheme to provide financial support to women of all ages in Egbeda/Ona Ara.
He has also introduced skill acquisition for young women, improved access to better reproductive healthcare and education.
The Ona-Ara Federal Rep has also launched welfare programs, community support, infrastructure, And Human capital development schemes over the year.
Infrastructure programmes the legislator embarked on were construction of schools, Primary Health Care centers and skill acquisition programs for young people.
According to the organizers, Hon. Akin Alabi also merited the award for proposing many important bills and motions like the amendment of the administration of Criminal Justice Act, Motion to compel INEC to make continuous voter registration unending among others.
