Adeosun to Deliver OYSCATECH 2nd Inaugural Lecture 

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun, Director of Academic Planning and former Dean, Faculty of Animal and Fisheries Technology is set to deliver the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, (OYSCATECH) 2nd Inaugural Lecture.

The Dean, Faculty of Animal and Fisheries Technology, Dr. Mosobalaje Mutiu is hereby inviting the general public to the 2nd Inaugural Lecture under the distinguished Chairmanship of the Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi.

The lecture, titled; “From Harvest to Plate; the Journey of the Pearls of the Waters,” is expected to bring scholars from within and outside the institution together.

The lecture which will hold on November 5, 2025 by 12:00 noon will provide the opportunity for the people to benefit from the research voyages of Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun, the Director of Academic Planning at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

The Registrar, Mr. R. F. A. Adeniji together with other Principal Officers of the institution will equally be on ground during the inaugural lecture.

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun is a distinguished Nigerian who was born on 8th April, 1967. As a young girl, Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun started her primary education in 1973 at Methodist Primary School I, Bodija, Ibadan. She attended Seventh Day Secondary Modern School Erunmu in 1979 and proceeded to Mount Olivet Grammar School, Bodija in 1980 where she obtained the West African School Certificate in 1985.

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun proceeded to the Polytechnic, Ibadan where she obtained National Diploma in Food Science and Technology and was awarded the best overall graduating student in 1988.

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun attended the University of Ibadan and bagged Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Food Technology in 1994. She also obtained Master’s Degree in Fisheries Management in 2003 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Fisheries Management in 2016 at the University of Ibadan.

In her quest for knowledge in flexible skills and online training she was awarded the following certificates:

Award of Certificate in self-learning Online course on Understanding Open Educational Resources offered by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Canada,

Completed the course Flexible Skills Development for Teachers in TVET Sector offered jointly by COL and NBTE ,

Award of certificate for the successful completion of The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing certification exam by Google Digital Garage ,

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun, after her NYSC at Government Girls Technical Secondary School, Charanchi, Katsina State, joined the Universal Associate Company Limited, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Fishing Company Apapa, Lagos State between 1996 and 1999 where she worked as a Production Officer. She worked at the Security unit of University of Ibadan between 2004 and 2009.

She joined the services of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igboora as Lecturer II where she rose through the rank to Chief Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Technology.

At OYSCATECH, she held various administrative positions some of which include: Member, College Board of Studies, Chairman, Staff disciplinary Committee, Dean, Faculty of Animal and Fisheries Technology, Director, Vocational Skills and Entrepreneurship Study Centre, OYSCATECH, Deputy Director (Academic) directorate of Part-time Programmes and Preliminary Studies and Acting Head, Department of Fisheries Technology.

Other administrative positions include, Member, Curriculum Review Committee, Member, Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme Committee, Chairman, Taskforce Committee against Students’ Immoral Behaviours, Chairman, Investigation panel on farm loss, Chairman, LOC 2021 OYSCATECH Biennial Conference, Member, Ceremonial Committee and Chairman, College Inaugural Committee.

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun has published over 40 articles in both local and international journals and has supervised 38 National diploma and Higher National Diploma Students.

She is a member of the following professional bodies; Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON), Association of Nigeria Fisheries Scientists (ANIFS) and Fellow, Chartered Institute of Commerce of Nigeria.

She is also a member and branch Chairperson of Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) Nigeria.

Dr. Olubunmi Adeosun is happily married to Mr Ezekiel Oluwadamilola Adeosun JP and the marriage is blessed with children.
