The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, has deployed street lights to communities within Ibadan South-West Local government Area.

The sustainable and eco-friendly light project being facilitated by Adeniran, is part of his efforts geared towards addressing the issue of epileptic power supply and insecurity.

This was contained in a statement signed by his media team and made available to Oyo News on Sunday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The project, according to Adeniran, was aimed at the improvement of security and boosting the morale of communities in Ibadan South-West local government area.

“The main objective is to improve security, beautify urban and rural areas with adequate light for the good of Ibadan South-West residents”.

According to the statement, “The 400 watts solar energy deployed to communities, will also address the issue of insecurity in Oyo State”.

Some of the compounds that benefited from the street light installation include, Ado, Okekeye, Okanto, Durodola, Elesude, Asa Adeleke, Oyetunji, Gaiza, Aretu and Eleruogun compounds.

“Other communities that also benefited from the street light installation include Alajameta junction Amunigun; CAC Oke-imole; Asa compound mosque; Ile Federal; Oshoba Falola Agbokojo; Iyana oja, Amunigun; Aretu compound Labo owo, Odunsi junction, Amunigun and Idi Oro”.

“The project is part of Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran’s efforts to support good governance in Oyo State”, the statement added.

Dr. Adeniran who Chairs, South-West Forum of SUBEB Chairmen, commended the Oyo State Government, under Engr. Seyi Makinde for its commitment to basic education sub-sector in Oyo State.

Adeniran therefore called on residents to continue give Governor Makinde all the necessary support to enable him meet their demands.
