Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun has followed the footstep of his counterpart in Oyo State, by suspending his campaign activities indefinitely.
This was revealed in a statement by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, signed by a Chieftain, ‘Biodun Sanyaolu.
The Campaign Council will not hesitate to inform the general public on the resumption of campaign activities which is subject to the amicable resolution of the aforementioned issues.
Recall that Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde suspended his campaign activities earlier in the the day.
The statement reads:
The APC Progressives Governors’ Forum is not unaware of the sufferings of the general public as it relates to the inconveniences being experienced with the recent new naira notes introductions as well as the lingering fuel crisis which is pervading the nation. The Forum indeed sympathizes with all Nigerians on the untoward experiences in the recent times. The Forum is acquiesced that the introduction of the new naira notes, though a good policy, has not been effectively implemented by the relevant agencies charged with that responsibility.
In the light of the above, the Chairman of the State Campaign Council, His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, has therefore directed that all campaign rallies earlier scheduled to hold are hereby cancelled with immediate effect.
The campaign team also assured residents that the Progressive Governors Forum are working in hand-in- hand with President Muhammadu Buhari, to ameliorate the sufferings of the people and find a lasting solution to the matter.
