While calling on the Baales to enlighten their subjects on the need to vote for the continued development of the state, he noted that “it is unfortunate that some people from my backyard in Iperu think that the office of the governor is a family affair”.
Abiodun who further urged sons and daughters of Remoland to vote him for a second term in office, disclosed that the state would benefit more from Tinubu’s presidency through his own All Progressives Congress-led government in the state.
He informed the Baale that his administration in the last three years has constructed over 400 kilometers of road, some of which are in the Remoland, asking them to educate their people to vote for the continuity that would ensure the completion of the Ogun State International Agro Cargo Airport, Olokola Deep Sea Port and other economical viable projects across the state.
He disclosed that he had received the names of some Baales to be promoted to the position of monarchs from the Akarigbo, ssying that their upgrading would be done very soon.
“God has made a son of the soil in Remoland a governor already, the position of a governor isn’t a family title, God has already given us a governor. As your governor, I am trying my best, if not for hatred, should anyone else come out from my backyard in Iperu?.
“The office of the governor isn’t an office that can be bought, those that have tried that before were not successful.
“Akarigbo has already recommended some of you for upgrading as monarchs, I have taken possession of the list already,” he said.
Earlier, the Akarigbo said, “I have had the opportunity of comparing two governments, I don’t think there has been any government that has been good to us like that of Dapo Abiodun”.
While commending governor Abiodun for the timely payment of their allowances, Oba Ajayi further acknowledged him for providing new vehicles for monarchs in the state.
Akarigbo who commended the governor for ensuring equal distribution of projects across the state, lauded him for completing projects abandoned by his predecessor,. particularly the construction of the Ogun State International Agro Cargo Airport project.
“Our stipends and allowances are paid as at when due, more importantly, issues of our vehicles, eventually, the governor bought brand new cars for us. I said that he should still buy 16 vehicles, four for each council, he gave us 20 vehicles, five vehicles for each traditional council, that is the first phase, we believe when you are back in the saddle, the others will be done. Thank you for also providing us with buses for our four councils.
“More importantly is how Ogun State is beinh governed, let us look at the larger interest of the state, I was in Ota recently to deliver a lecture for the Awori Obas, all the roads mentioned by the Awori Obas have either been completed or being completed.
“On the issue of Oba Erinwole road, he has done it, from here to Iperu to the International Agro Cargo Airport, the flagship of them is the Agro Cargo Airport, our state capital is not left out, all abandoned projects in our state capital had been completed or about to be completed, we have to let our people know that they have to shine their eyes very well so we won’t lose the advantage we have,” he said.
