This is contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Sports, Hon Wasilat Adegoke issued in Ibadan and made available to newsmen.

She revealed with delight that, this marks the first time in West Africa that a contactless payment card will be rolled out at this scale, and the first-ever for a stadium in the region.

The implementation will occur in phases, with regular updates provided to the public to ensure smooth adoption”, she said.

She said it will reduce reliance on cash for quicker, more efficient payments. Minimizing risks associated with cash handling while increasing financial transparency.
